MAN ON A LEDGE (2012) Release Date: January 13, 2012 - Jamie Bell

Nick Cassidy (Sam Worthington) was an honest cop. Now he’s in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. Desperate, he seizes the first chance to escape. Hours later, he is freshly shaven in an expensive suit, standing on a window ledge high above New York City. As a crowd gathers below, police cordon off the area and agree to Nick’s request to speak with pretty police negotiator Lydia Anderson (Elizabeth Banks). But Lydia doesn’t know that she is part of his grand plan, a plan that could give them both a second chance.

Speaking quietly into a lapel microphone, Nick coordinates the high-tech theft of a $30 million diamond—the same diamond he was convicted of stealing. It’s the only way he can prove his innocence, but he needs Lydia’s help—and he’s running out of time. When his identity is exposed, a SWAT team positions itself on the roof, read to take him out. Lydia isn’t sure he’s telling the truth, but if he really was set up for the diamond heist, it had to be an inside job, which means at least one of the cops on the scene wants Nick dead. With SWAT about to move, cops destroying the evidence that could save him and nowhere to go but down, Nick’s chances of survival are getting slimmer by the minute.

Filled with clever twists, Man on a Ledge is a smart, pulse-pounding thriller about a man determined to clear his name, exact revenge and get the girl…if he can just stay one step ahead of the men who put him behind bars.

A Visit To The Set

On December 15, 2010 Gaby Dunn, who works for MovieFone,
visited the set to interview the cast.
The first thing she shared is that the set of MOAL is really detailed...

"It looks like you're really well...on a ledge".

Then she mentioned a few tidbits about some of the cast:

That Anthony Mackie does a pretty spot-on Tracy Morgan impression...

Sam Worthington says he's working to make Clash of the Titans 2
a better movie than the original.

Gaby also tells me Jamie Bell compared Tintin to an action adventure
like Indiana Jones,
and she added that Jamie was a 'Sweetheart'.

A Gift For Peter Jackson - Jamie Bell Dances!

NOTE: Turn music off at the video below/Next column...

This Video of Jamie Bell tap dancing is just a minute of a 10 min video "The Present" on the KING KONG (2005) 3 DVD Edition. This is a fun little ditty in which Andy Serkis concocts an idea for a short film that will reveal the cast members' conflict as each strives to acquire a mysterious pink-papered package. The result, of course, was this was a film they played to Jackson on his birthday, ultimately presenting him with the pink box and the unseen gift inside.

Holiday Habits - Jamie Bell for Ryanair Magazine

Jamie Bell

“WHENEVER I LOOK BACK OVER THE previous year I’ve always spent it travelling between countries, but it’s all for work. To promote [new movie] The Eagle, earlier this month I was in Paris, today I’m in London, and so on. To go somewhere just to relax and to have a holiday is very rare now.

“I’m from a town called Billingham on the north-east coast of the UK. I live in Los Angeles now and as a northern guy I definitely see myself as an outsider and an interloper. But of course you also meet lots of other British people who are out there, and I’m always back and forth between the UK and elsewhere.

“To make The Eagle, it had to look like we were in Roman Britain, so we filmed in the countryside in Hungary and Scotland. In Scotland we got a few hill walkers passing through and being startled to find themselves suddenly surrounded by Romans – that was pretty funny. The Highland areas where we filmed were very remote, because that’s what the film needed – a sense of scope, of crossing a frontier into an unknown world. Kevin [Macdonald], the director, really fought to get those difficult locations. The crew would have to walk up hills in the dark carrying heavy equipment, and some of our sets would just blow away or fall into the sea. It was a really stupid way to make a film in a lot of ways! But there was just no other way to do it.

“I’ve also completed filming as Tintin, in a Spielberg film of the Belgian comics. As it’s a motion-capture film, there was no set at all for that one, just a room with cameras in the ceiling to capture your movements, and you have a camera attached to your head to film your face. You can’t have anything reflective in the room as that interferes with the technology, so it’s a very bland environment, but one where you can be really creative. I’ve seen some of the finished sequences and it’s the best motion-capture I’ve ever seen. To anyone who loves Tintin, I’d say, be reassured that it has been made out of love for the books, with respect for upholding their legacy. It’s going to be amazing.”

THE EAGLE IS OUT NOW. THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN: THE SECRET OF THE UNICORN IS OUT LATER THIS YEAR.

RETREAT (2011) Status: Complete...Waiting for a Trailer - Jamie Bell

Synopsis

In a last-ditch attempt to save their faltering marriage, Martin & Kate (Cillian Murphy & Thandie Newton) return to a beautiful, yet remote and unpopulated Scottish island that is home to Fairweather Cottage. A place where they once shared a romantic holiday.

Despite the warmth of autumnal log fires, Kate and Martin find their relationship is still cool and things only get worse when they lose contact with the mainland, and find themselves inexplicably stranded.

One morning a bloodied military man appears seemingly out of nowhere with terrifying news – a deadly airborne pandemic has broken out and is coming their way. Jack insists they seal themselves into the cottage to keep the fatal virus out.

Although unconvinced, Kate and Martin have little choice but to play along as Jack bit by bit seals the doors and windows. Even when he starts to board up the house, shutting them in entirely, Martin and Kate can’t agree on what to do.

With each nail that Jack hammers into the wooden doorframes, conflicts bubble to the surface, and Jack exploits the couple’s mistrust for his own ends.

But when Jack starts to turn abusive to Kate, she and Martin finally join forces to confront him.

In a series of tense twists the captive couple use all their ingenuity to try to escape from Jack, and from the retreat cottage that has become their prison.

And, just when it looks like they might gain the upper hand, a disturbing discovery turns everything upside down resulting in a violent and shocking conclusion.

Jamie Bell to star in Jon S. Baird's 'FILTH' ?

IMDb has Jamie Bell listed in the cast of
FILTH
directed by Jon S. Baird

Short Synopsis

With the Christmas season in full swing, Detective BRUCE ROBERTSON is winding down at work and looking forward to his trip to Amsterdam, for a weekend of debauchery and the psychological manipulation of his best friend. The last thing BRUCE needs is a trivial murder case to solve; despite it providing an ideal opportunity to eliminate his rival colleagues in the race for promotion - a promotion BRUCE so desperately craves. But our hero has other obstacles to overcome, including: alcohol & drug addiction, a dramatic deterioration in his mental health, and some increasingly demanding extra-marital affairs.

I decided to write the production company to find out if this was true. THIS is their response back:

Hey Ted,

I'm afraid it's a little too early for us to confirm Jamie Bell's casting in the film, but thank you for getting in contact with us!

RETREAT (2011) Special Cast & Crew Screening - Jamie Bell

There was a cast & crew screening of 'Retreat' starring Cillian Murphy, Jamie Bell & Thandie Newton in the UK on Sunday April 10, 2011.

Below are a few comments from folks who were lucky enough to be there...

@Nina1bee said: "It's a wonderful piece of acting. Jamie Bell shines in it... as a soldier he rocks it. Any JB fans, u will love Retreat..."

@Bostondunk: 'Retreat' a well crafted Brit thriller, think 'Dead Calm' & 'Right at your Door' with a superb performance from Jamie Bell in particular!

And then Duncan sent a personal email adding:

"...based on Jamie's performances to date; this was his first 'adult' role and one in which he appears to have come of age.

Without giving too much away about the film, Jamie gives a strong, edgy performance, that is also subtle, whilst at times sympathetic and tragic.

it is a taught, claustrophobic movie, which, with the introduction of Jamie's character gathers pace, tension and momentum.

I am confident that the film will find an audience and will in turn be well received!"

THANKS FOR SHARING!
